I'm not sure, most people probably wonder this. But he brought Rin back to life so I'm assuming he feels like a parent or guardian for her since all her family members died plus its like a father daughter connection considering he brought her to life as a mother would to a child.Also when Rin was living she care for him when he was injured in the forest but Sesshomaru didnt need any help from her because hes a demon and doesnt eat human food, guess deep down he appreciated it but didnt show it.
he has grown attached to her (he won't admit it of course). he thinks of her as a daughter-like figure i guess. or maybe something for him to protect.

in the end seshomaru leaves rin in the village to train under lady kaede but he often comes to visit her and gives her gifts like new kimono's, jewelery, etc. she totally has him wrapped around her little finger.
because rin was so kind to sesshomaru when he was down and i guess he grew caring feelings for the little girl

In Inuyasha who is Rin?
A) Rin is a human girl who travels with Sesshomaru (Inuyasha's older, full-demon brother) and Jaken, Sesshomaru's servant. B) Rin is a human orphan girl who originally lived in the village that was attacked by Koga's wolf pack when he first appeared in the series/manga. Sesshomaru had been injured (It might have been when he was fighting InuYasha (when he lost his arm) but it probably wasn't.) and he was resting in the woods waiting for his body to heal, when Rin had found him, noticed that he was injured, and even with his protests had continued to bring him food and water. When Sesshomaru's body had finished healing, he was walking on a trail leaving the village with Jaken by his side, when he came across Rin's dead body; she had been attacked by some of Koga's wolves. Sesshomaru was going to just ignore her and go on his way, but he was stopped when Tenseiga had pulsed, implying that he revive her (he took it as a test to see what Tenseiga could do). When she had come back to life, she had realized that Sesshomaru had saved her, and for some reason I don't know of, decided to follow Sesshomaru. She has been traveling with him and Jaken ever since.

season 8 is almost the end of inuyasha until the new episode comes out which is 168 in September 2009 but in the end of the season sesshomaru comes to save rin when she gets kidnapped but the monks who hate demons save the other kid and rin but rin just sits there and waits until sesshomaru comes and when the monk asks her to come with him she was talking about how her lord which is sesshomaru will come to save her and sesshomaru heard her and soon the monks see sesshomaru and try to destroy him but sesshomarus demon powers are too much and the monks all faint while one monk tells rin not to go with the demon and soon rin runs off with sesshomaru.
