Why does sheldon cooper have a favourite seat?

Sheldon's spot, can be found on the left side of the couch in his and Leonard's appartment. His does not tolerate others sitting inhis spot and thus has place it in "a state of eternal dibs".

Sheldon's reational for the seat stems from its supposedly being the ideal sitting position in the room as:

"In the winter, that seat is close enough to the radiatorto remain warm and yet not so close as to cause perspiration. In the summer, it's directly in the path of a corss breezecreated by opening windows there and there..."

Additionally the seat holds merit for watching TV and socializing as:

"It faces the television at an angle that is neither direct, thus discouraging conversation, nor so far wide to create a parallax distortion."
