Assuming that you are refering to when yoda tells obi wan that his former mentor qui-gonn jinn has found a way to communicate with the living world and that yoda will teach obi wan how to communicate with him, there are references in both the expanded universe novels and the movies written by george lucas himself that obi wan was im hiding on tatooine OFTEN MEDITATING so from this we can gather that yoda obviously taught obi wan how to communicate with the dead by some means of meditation, hope this has been of some help please contact me if you have any questions or if i have answered this question wrong dan_chesler_1@msn.com

Qui-Gon Jinn was Obi-wan Kenobi's master. Obi-Wan states that Yoda trained him in the original movie's but I believe he was referring to his time as a youngling, before Qui-Gon chose him as a padawan.
