The Tucks didn't want Winnie to drink from the spring because they don't want Winnie to have the same eternal life. In fact the Tucks wish that they had found a spring that would make them mortal because they regret each and every moment of their life from now on. She puts the cycle in a way like it's a ferris wheel and every ferris wheel comes to an end, which will never occur to the tucks; their cycle (life) is on pause for ever and that also affects the ones around them Every wheel has it's peeks. It's highest point. Advantages, fun times, friendships. But it also has chaotic, crazy, scary, disapointing times and problems we've got to learn from. But as we travel around the cycle we have no choice but to keep going and not give up on life. Everyone's lives have a start and a finish and all people must eventually reach the end of thiers.
