Paris was the son of Priam and Hecuba. Before his birth Priam had a dream in which he foresaw that Paris would bring Troy to destruction so he gave him to a slave Agelaus to expose him on Mr Ida. It appears that a bear nursed him for five days. Then he was found by a shepherd who brought him up as his son. There maybe a different account of this in Helen of Troy. Anyway hope that this assists someway.
Priam was the last king of Troy. He was the father of Hector and Paris. It was Paris who seduced Helen of Sparta and so began the Trojan War which lasted for 10years. Achilles had already killed a number of Priam's and Hecuba's sons. They feared Hector might be killed as well.
Priam and Hecuba try to dissuade Hector from facing Achilles outside the city walls by arguing that Achilles is far stronger than him and that the people will be deeply sorrowed if he dies.
