The swagman is not allocated a name. There is, however, a standing joke that his name was "Andy", due to the line: "And he sang as he watched and waited till his billy boiled..."
boil"And he sang as he watched and waited till his billy boiled"...A billy is an Australian metal canister for boiling water over a fire. Often, swagmen and stockmen would toss a handful of tea leaves into the boiling billy to make their tea. Campers still do the same thing today.
None that I know of, and even if there was someone, who would want to hear it, because no one could sing it like him!!!! I agree with that, however the group Cookie and his Cupcakes charted with Matilda in January, 1959 at number 47.
"Sang" in English is Ho cantato ("I sang"), Hai cantato ("You sang"), Ha cantato ("He sang," "She sang"), Abbiamo cantato ("We sang"), Avete cantato("You all sang") and Hanno cantato ("They sang") in Italian.
a Gospel oriented Rock group called- somewhat oddly- Ocean. They should have done a Russian Ortho variation with the punch line- Put your hand in the hand of the Man from the K. G.B.!
