The song "Cry For Me" was originally recorded by a female soul singer
named Cholli Maye for Gold Records in late 1963 or early 1964.
The flip side of the record is called "You Will Never Get Away".
Both side are very well done, and was a Gaudio-Valli production
with Charles Calello arranging. Mr. Calello actually wrote "Get Away"
while Bob Gaudio wrote "Cry For Me", the nice Ballad featured in
Jersey Boys. The song was later released as a flip side to a Frankie
Valli solo record on Smash Records around 1966, with an entirely
different and interesting arrangement.
