His birth name was Jorge Mario Bergoglio and he was a cardinal and archbishop of Buenos Aires, Argentina, where he was born. His parents were immigrants from Italy. He is a member of the Jesuit order and the first member of that order to have been elected as pope. Francis is the first pope from the Americas and first non-European pope in hundreds of years. He is also the first pope to take the name Francis.

The current archbishop of Paris is the Cardinal André Vingt-Trois since 2005.

He is born on Nov. 7, 1942.

The traditional rule is that the archbishop of Paris resigns from his position when reaching 75. Along that rule the cardinal Vingt-Trois could be archbishop of Paris until 2017.

There is only one pope who leads the entire Catholic world. Currently (2013) that is Pope Francis. France does not have its own pope.
Yes, France has a pope and he is the same pope who leads the entire Catholic Church.

There is only one Pope and he is in Italy at the Vatican. However, there have been 17 popes from France in earlier centuries.
