So far there has been no remake scheduled. If they did remake one, I think they would've remade it by now. There was a reprinting of the DVD in 2005 called The Full Novel Edition, if that would count as a remake. I believe there was the VHS version released, then the two DVDs.
There was a TV show introduced in 1990 as a follow-up to the movie, but I've heard some studios have gotten the offer to remake it, but declined. It will most likely not be remade, in my opinion, but who knows. There probably have been some attempts at fan attempts, but that's it.

Though I cannot say for certain there is no current production in the works for a remake of The Outsiders, the fact that there is no production information on IMDB and all the references to a remake of this movie/retelling of the book lead back to unfounded rumors leads me to believe there is no definite production in the works. Rumors of a remake of The Outsiders go back to 1999.

CRYSTAL, as far as we know, WILL NOT BE COMING OUT FOR DS. Crystal was kind of a remake of both Gold and Silver versions. Like Platinum was a remake of both Diamond and Pearl. I would not exspect a remake of this game, sadly, because it is one of my favorites. Soulsilver (Silver remake) and HeartGold (Gold remake) will be coming out Spring 2010.

There is due to be a remake of goal 3 coming out in 2012. The producers agreed to remake the shocking movie, as they blamed it on poor financing and lack of human resources, I am looking forward to seeing the remake, as it couldn't be worse than the current goal 3!
