Season one started on a Tuesday night in 1971; season 2 -5, it aired on Saturday night; Season 6 it moved to Monday; season 7 moved to Wednesday; Season 8-9 it was on Sundays.
I didn't bother to check if it changed nights midseason, this was a random check. It was rare for networks to change nights on high rated shows back then if I can remember correctly.
