well the titanic's speed is about 20-23 knots the ice burg was not moving. so what they did was put the titanic in reverse at full throttle to slow it down plus they were going way to fast any way they managed to get the ocean liner's speed to about 10 knots and they shut off the engines which was stupid because you can't steer a boat with the engines off that what made them crash.
