The seating was expanded. Drainage systems were created to deal with floods. Monumental buildings were built around it. Yet, the seating remained wooden until Trajan's days.

They saved some of the lumber from the old theatre and used it to build a new theatre in a new part of town. This new theatre was called the Globe Theatre and it opened in 1599. It didn't move anywhere.
