The Bastille Saint-Antoine was built, like many bastilles in France, on a 4-tower model - the other 4 towers were added later. A video of the Bastille's structural measurements can be found on YouTube with the following title: How big was the Bastille...really...exactly?

La Bastille was a castle and prison in the heart of Paris. Used as a prison, it came to symbolise the unjust power of kings, hence the French verb "embastiller" (put in prison without any judgment). The people of Paris stormed the Bastille on the 14th of Julay 1789, marking the official beginning of the French Revolution.

What weapons did the peasants use at Bastille?

The people who seized the Bastille were not peasants but Paris' townspeople, led by a few soldiers. Peasants did not came inside the capital from the countryside, to participate in the fall of the Bastille (althought they did participate in much that happened by the countryside). The weapons used to capture the Bastille were rifles seized earlier in the day at the Invalides arsenal, and a few cannons taken from the same location.
