If you mean basic military training you will want to bring very little as they will provide you everything you need and will go through all your things and make you lock up anything they don't think you aught to have. Bring a few days of very conservative cloths and a pair of tennis shoes, nothing that will draw attention to yourself in anyway, think neutral colors, clean cut. For the airforce you will be wearing civilian clothes for about 4 days and I wish I had brought enough to wear a clean set of clothes all four days. Go ahead and bring your cell phone, it will be locked away the whole time but on graduation weekend you'll be glad you have it. I wish I had brought an electric razor to keep in my personal drawer. Do bring pictures of people important to you and some cash for any base lib days you might get, def. bring plenty of phone cards because you'll be surprised how fast you eat through those minutes on the pay phone. Don't bring any food, snacks... tell your family and friends not to mail any to you... doing push ups for every M&M in a 1 pound bag will make you hate life.
