Margaret Hamilton's [December 9, 1902-May 16, 1985] hair caught on fire. The broom of stand-in Betty Danko exploded and embedded bits of her costume in her leg.

The meetings with the Wizard are complications in "The Wizard of Oz."

Specifically, Dorothy and her pet dog Toto are told that they can get back to Kansas if they contact the Wizard in the Emerald City of Oz. They kill the witch and return to the Emerald City. There, they learn that the Wizard on the spot can grant the wishes of the Lion, the Scarecrow and the Tin Woodman. But they must wait to find out how Dorothy and Toto can get back to Kansas. The Wizard ultimately offers a hot air balloon ride back with him to Kansas, but the balloon takes off without them. Things seem desperate until Glinda the Good reveals the magic traveling powers of the slippers that Dorothy wears throughout her adventures in Oz.
