"High Noon" wasn't produced by any of the large Hollywood studios. It was instead an independent production by Stanley Kramer Productions Inc., and was released in the USA and UK by United Artists Corporation. Much of the film was shot on location. The fictitious town of Hadleyville was filmed in the Main Street of Columbia, California. The church can still be seen in Tolulumne City, California (or at least it was still there when I visited it in 2005 or thereabout!). We found it difficult to spot though because the location is nothing like it appeared in the film! The railroad and water tower are at Warnerville, although we couldn't find them on that same trip! And although none of the major studios were responsible for the production of "High Noon", some of "Hadleyville" was filmed at the "Columbia Ranch" in Burbank.
