MeteoriteThe glow surrounding a meteoroid is not caused by friction between the atmosphere and the meteoroid (as many people mistakenly believe), but rather due to the shock wave produced as a meteoroid slams into the Earth's atmosphere, rapidly compressing the air. This shock wave (properly called ram pressure) causes the exterior of the meteoroid to heat up and melt giving off a strong glow. Also, small amounts of gas surrounding the meteoroid are superheated as well, causing the bright tails seen behind meteors.

The deleted scenes and outtakes that were taken out of the film "The Wizard Of Oz" were a tornado scene, trimmed moments, some of "If I Only Had A Brain", a beehive scene, trimmed moments of "The Wicked Witch", a song called "The Jitterbug", a reprise of the song "Over The Rainbow", a reprise of the song "Ding-dong! The Witch Is Dead!". The tornado scene (not the scene where Dorothy and Toto sees things in the Tornado): a minute and a half scene of a tornado distroying things. The reason why they took it out: The director and the crew thought it was too long (a minute and a half) when it was suspose to be a few seconds of the tornado. Trimmed moments: short deleted scenes. The reason why they took it out: The director and the crew thought they had nothing to do with the film. Some of "If I had A Brain": While the Scarecrow is dancing, he starts to feel dizzy and almost falls back as he's walking. He stops feeling dizzy. He walks toward Dorothy gets right back to dancing. He falls over a fence and then while Dorothy is looking for him, he rolls under the fence, which Dorothy is standing on. He starts to tuch his chest, wondering where his hay is which was in his body. The bird comes, which scares the Scarecrow. The bird takes the hay that was in the Scarecrow's body. He watches the bird fly away with his hay in the bird's mouth and gets mad at the bird. The Scarecrow gets right back to dancing and gets dizzy again. The bird comes back, still with the hay in it's mouth. The Scarecrow jumps and flys over the fence, looking for the hay and finds the hay and puts it back in his body. He jumps and flys over the fence again, but falls and rolls. He splits his legs apart and the scene goes back in reverse until his legs are not split anymore which happens twice. Toto makes a pumpkin roll down toward the Scarecrow. The pumpkin bumps into the Scarecrow, which makes him go all the way up in the air and safely goes back down on his feet. He runs into 8 fences and the last breaks. The scene, once again, goes in reverse until all fences are unbumped. The scarecrow starts singing again. The reason why they took it out: The director the other half of the scene was slowing down the film, so the scene was cut. The beehive scene: A scene where Dorothy, Scarecrow, and Tinman get bitten by bees. Tinman crushes a bee and starts to cry and rusts his jaw shut. Tinman turns into a beehive. Lines: Tinman: I will see you'll reach the Wizard whether a get a heart or not. Beehive. Ball. Let her try and make a beehive out of me! You know,...! What's that? They've-They've gone now! Dorothy: Oh, goodness! Did any of they sting you? Tinman: I.. I they tried to, but they bent their stingers! Dorothy: Oh, dear! I don't know what I did my sore kit! Oh, oh, oh! There's one on me! Tinman: Oh, I'll get it! Dorothy: Oh, oh, oh! Tinman: Oh! See? I killed it! Oh, I killed the poor little honey bee! Dorothy: Oh, oh! Tinman: It's only a little man! Who could do anything like that? Poor little bee! Dorothy: Oh, there, there! Don't cry! There! As a matter of fact, that's just an old darn bee, and it would have been dead, anyway. Tinman: Yes? Dorothy: You've put it out of it's misery! Tinman: Oh! Dorothy: It's just that the witch is so wicked! I don't you two ought to come with me because you'll get into trouble! Scarecrow: Oh, you don't think we're going to stand be and let her get awat with fiables and bees? Do you? Tinman: No, sir! Scarecrow: "No, sir"? The reason why they took at out: It was cut so the scene of Dorothy her companions that comes after where the "beehive" scene had to be flipped to matching to want was going to happen next in the next scene. Trimmed moments of the Wicked Witch: short deleted scenes of the Wicked Witch. The reason why they took it out: Margaret Hamilton who played the Wicked Witch was a bit too scary. "The Jitterbug" (A.K.A The Lost Song In "The Wizard Of Oz"): A scene where Dorothy, Scarecrow, Tinman, Cowardly Lion get bitten by a jitterbug and starts to dance unhelplessly. Lines: Dorothy: Did you hear what I just heard? Scarecrow: That noise don't come from an ordinary bird! Dorothy: It may just be cricket or a critter in the trees! Tinman: It's giving me the jitters and the joints aroung my knees! Cowardly Lion: I think I see a shadow and it's fuzzy and it's furry! Scarecrow: I haven't got a brain but I oughta worry! Tinman: I haven't got a heart but I feel a pulpitation! Lion: As monach of the forest, I don't like this situation! Dorothy: Are you gonna stand around and let him fill us full or horror? Cowardly Lion: I'd like to roar him down! Oar! I think I lost my roarer! Scarecrow: It's a whosis! Cowardly Lion: It's a whosis? Tinman: It's a whatsis! Cowardly Lion: It's a whatsis? Scarecrow: Who's that? Tinman: Who's there? Cowardly Lion: Who's there? All: Beware! Dorothy: Who's that hiding in the treetops? It's that rascal, the Jitterbug! Should you catch him buzzing around you? Keep away from the Jitterbug! Oh, the bees in the breeze and the bats in the trees have a terrible, horrible buzz! But the bees in the breeze and the bats in the trees couldn't do what the Jitterbug does! So, be careful of that rascal! Keep away from the Jitterbug! The Jitterbug! All: Oh, the bees in the breeze and the bats in the trees have a terrible, horrible buzz! But the bees in the breeze and the bats in the trees couldn't do what the Jitterbug does! Dorothy: So, just be careful of the rascal! Keep away from the Jitterbug! Dorothy, Scarecrow: The Jitterbug! Dorothy, Scarecrow, Tinman: The Jitterbug! All: The Jitterbug! Dorothy: Oh, the jitter! Oh, the bug! Oh, the jitterbug! I'm a twitter! In the throws! All: Oh, the critter's got me dancing on thousand toes! Thar she blows! Jitterbugs making noices. The reason why they took it out: it was slowing down the film. The reprise of "Over The Rainbow": A scene where Dorothy is locked up by the Wicked Witch and Dorothy starts to sing "Over The Rainbow" again. The reason why they took it out: It was cut for technical reasons. The reprise of "Ding-Dong! The Witch Is Dead!": A scene Dorothy and her companions go back Emrald City and when everyone figures out that the witch is dead, they start to sing "Ding-Dong! The Witch Is Dead!". The reason why they took it out: It was tooken out for technical reasons.

First time I heard her named, the Lit. instructor pronounced it "Took-men". Since then I have heard it pronounced "Tuck," although not by anyone who might be in the habit of assigning her books to be read. It should be pronounced Tuch as in the gutteral Hebrew or Afrikaans "ch". The sound coming from the back of the throat.
