The day AFTER Halloween, Nov. 1, is called "Day of the Dead" commemorating all of the little children who've died (The correct name is "Day of the Innocents" or "Dia de los Inocentes." Nov. 2, my birthday is "Day of the Dead" for all adults who've died or "Dia de los Muertos." Latin Americans will have picnics on the graves thinking that on these days they have a better chance of communicating with the deceased.
Family friends of my family are from South America I do know they wait till midnight on Christmas Eve then at 12:00 open there presents !!!!!!!!!
South Americans citizens do not celebrate Thanksgiving. Each country celebrates holidays according to their unique historical and religious traditions.
their own special holidays and some good ol holidays we celebrate even today
I want to know as well
Thanksgiving is an American holiday. It represents the first feast the Pilgrims had when they came to America from England. China does not celebrate Thanksgiving, unless that Chinese person is living in America.
Yes, Valentine's Day is celebrated throughout all Christian places (or even non-Christian places) in the world as it is a Christian Holiday; South America is mostly Christian and yes, the holiday is celebrated throughout the continent. Some countries, such as Brazil, however celebrate a similar holiday but on a different day of the year other than February 14.
Jehovah's Witnesses can not celebrate the 4th of July because they only celebrate weddings, anniversaries, and religiously-bound holidays (ex.- Christmas). The Jehovah's Witnesses do not celebrate Christmas. The only holidays they celebrate are what we non-JWs call the Lord's Supper. Jehovah's Witnesses view themselves as "no part of the world", as Jesus did when he was on the earth. (John 17:14) While they are citizens of current governments, and loyally obey the laws of the land when they do not conflict with God's Word the Bible, they do not believe that our salvation will come at the hands of governments of men. Therefore, why celebrate a tradition who's purpose is to promote a government instituted by men? What is more, the 4th of July celebration itself is a tradition celebrating America's "liberation". The holiday is therefore celebrating America as our salvation, whereas Jehovah's Witnesses look to Jesus as their savior. No
They celebrate the same holidays people do in United States of America.
Yes, they celebrate holidays!
We celebrate American holidays.<333 Miss America~^^
America has many legal holidays that they celebrate. New Years, Martin Luther King Jr. Birthday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas are all of the legal holidays in America.
Nobody is obligated to celebrate any holidays. But it would be a nice occasion if we took the time to celebrate and understand cultures behind public holidays. Holidays are a way or spending time and following tradition to be closer to your family. So, if that is the case... then why shouldn't we celebrate holidays?
no,because some kids cant celebrate some holidays
