Most people didn't know what was happening at first. People believed the Titanic to be 'unsinkable' so when there was a problem people weren't initially worried… it is said that some men where even playing football with broken ice from the iceberg just after the collision. But I am sure that once it was evident the ship was going to sink, panic struck through their body's and every soul aboard the ship I'm certain would have been terrified.
They were different kind of jobs. For example, the basic ones like cooking, cleaning, etc. The engineers and the people who put coal into the furnace to make the ship move. The captains and high crew. The musicians who, well, played instruments. But more simple: it was like a hotel, there was even a swimming pool, a lot of jobs were available.
