There are a total of 25 state parks in Indiana. They are (in alphabetical order) Brown County, Chain O' Lakes, Charlestown, Clifty Falls, Falls of the Ohio, Fort Harrison, Harmonie, Indiana Dunes, Lincoln, McCormick's Creek, Mounds, O'Bannon Woods, Ouabache, Pokagon, Potato Creek, Prophetstown, Redbird State Riding Area, Shades, Shakamak, Spring Mill, Summit Lake, Tippecanoe River, Turkey Run, Versailles, and Whitewater Memorial. I've personally visited Chain O' Lakes, McCormick's Creek, Ouabache, Pokagon, Spring Mill, and Turkey Run. My favorite is probably Spring Mill. It features a small cave, horse rides, a museum dedicated to the late astronaut Virgil "Gus" Grissom, and a pioneer village with a functional mill -- something for everyone. But I also made many happy memories at Chain O' Lakes (located in northern Indiana) when I was growing up. The state parks I've seen here are typically set in the kind of beautiful, hardwood forests that were once common in this area.
