Harry and Dumbledore were never "friends" as such - not like work colleagues or school buddies, in any case. Harry idolised Dumbledore and the old man was a mentor to him.
But if you mean their relationship was a friendship, then no Harry was not "friends" with Dumbledore in the first book until Dumbledore visited Harry in the hospital wing after Harry came face to face with Voldemort down the trapdoor.
Well no if your talking about a student. Although he became very good friends with Horace Slughorn who was a Slytherin when he was in Hogwarts. Also at the very end of Deathly Hallows part 2, Harry said Snape whose a Slytherin was one of the headmasters and the bravest man he ever knew even though they both hated eachother until he died.
