The richest man in South Africa is mining and minerals magnate Parick Motsepe, a former lawyer who started his business when the Apartheid regime collapsed in 1994 . It is estimated that Motsepe (37) is worth around $10-billion. Nicky Oppenheimer, son of Africa's richest man in the 60s and 70s and owner of the De Beers mining conglomerate, is second while cigarette king Johan Rupert is third. IT wizz Mark Shuttleworth is fourth and Auto and General insurance boss Douw Steyn is in fifth place.
