Yes, There Is 2 Alternate Endings Apart From The Original Ending. One In Which Light Asks Ryuk To Kill Him Because He says He "Hates A Life Of Killing" Then He is Taken To Mu, Or Nothingness. The Shinigami World. There He Suffers The Pain of All The Deaths He caused. The Second Light Becomes a Shinigami. The Second Alternate Ending Is The One In Which Fans Are Saying Is a Clue To The Next season. There are many different Theorys, Though.

In the end, Near wins and Light dies.

Manga Version: Light begs Ryuk to kill Near and the police. Ryuk writes down Light's name in the Death note instead. Mikami dies in jail a few months later and Misa commits suicide.

Anime Version: Mikami kills himself in the warehouse-thing and Light tries to run away. Then there's this whole dramatic scene and Ryuk is on a building and says that they had fun but Light's time is up. Then Light dies of a heart attack on a staircase. Then you see L standing there(which I don't understand) and Misa standing on a building and she looks like she's going to jump. And finally, IT ENDS.

In The End, Light Cheats Shinigami Rem Into killing L By Writing His Real Name In Her Death Note. In Season two, Light Is Faced With Two More Enemies. N And Mello. In The End, N (Revealed As Near) Corners Light And He Is Identified As Kira. Light's Shinigami, Ryuk, Sees That Light Has Lost And Therefore Writes Light's Name In His Death Note. Light Runs, But After Forty Seconds, The Death Note Has Taken Affect And Light Is Dead. But, There Is Proof That There could Be a Season three, In which Light Is a Shinigami And He Must find A Way Back To The Human World.

Light lives longer then ask Ryuk to kill him because he couldn't stand killing people anymore. Ryuk kills him and Light doesn't go to Heaven or Hell... he goes to the Shinigami Realm and sees the Shingamis and Ryuk... everything all of the sudden turns black. Ryuk tells him that "He will feel all of the pain and suffering of the people he killed" and Light killed 1'084'567 people... which means now he will die 1'051'150 times... which now Light will head over to the Shinigami King and become a Shinigami after his Deaths, Then Relight 1 begins
