No. Donkeys and horses are two different animals, though somewhat related due to their ability to produce offspring, though sterile they mainly are. Donkeys look nothing like a horse and horses look nothing like a donkey. Donkeys are longer-eared and often more scraggly looking than a horse. Donkeys also have a wider forehead which enables them to see their hind quarters better than any horse can--which is transferred via genetics to mules and hinnies. While both are used for work and both can be ridden, it is not in any one's best interests to think that a donkey and a horse are the same creature.

A donkey can be male or female and could be called a man or woman donkey. A male donkey can be bred to a female horse to produce a mule which is then generally sterile.
