Sierra Leone has a two-season tropical climate. It was accordingly lush and fertile until deforestation became rife in the last couple of decades, owing to profitable industry such as mining and farming.

Things now seem to be looking up, and like all tropical areas, if caught in time and the careless handling of the land reduced, the land will regenerate.

We live in hope.
