Depends on how much work you put into a movie and how consistant you are in completing it. Some start a movie and wait a week to continue filming. Others waste no time and film everyday. Movies that contain alot of action and special effects require about 6 months or longer (years). So producers need to make sure that the movie they're making is worth the time and effort.
However, if you're talking an average 2 hour movie, filming for 12-18 hours per day (that's realistic), you're looking at 14-20 days of shooting, factoring in times for reshoots, waiting for proper light, etc.
All depends upon the length and quality of the movie logically, but as an indication it took 300 international animators 3 years to produce the 1937 version of Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs. Its a very lengthy process! For 3 minute video clip with integrated animation the band icubus spent 50 hours hand drawing the frames.
The makers of SOUTH PARK use computers to recreate the 'construction paper' style of their original animation efforts. With their huge budget, they undoubtedly use proprietary software developed just for them by paid experts to make the creative process very simple and quick from a relative, technical point of view.
An animated movie takes at least 5 months after its development is done.
to 5 years
There are two people who could take credit for founding Pixar. Steve Jobs and George Lucas.Pixar originally started out as the Computer Division of Lucasfilm Ltd. (owned by George Lucas). They made one computer animated short film that everyone liked, except George Lucas.Steve Jobs bought the Computer Division of Lucasfilm in the 1980s. He made them an independent company and they started to sell a computer called the Pixar Image Computer. For more about Pixar, I highly recommend The Pixar Touch by David A. Price.

Disney-Pixar's Up does not take place on an island. The setting is actually a mesa, based on the tepui mesas in Venezuela. The large waterfall is known as Paradise Falls in the film, based on the real Auyantepui's Angel Falls.

it depends on how long it goes on for. if it don't go on for long it won't take long if it takes for like forever to make it could take up to a year or more , otherwise it would take about a couple of months.

As with any film, its origin country usually displays the film first. While it is being displayed in the states, business negotiations and release planners work with British theater companies to plan the release. Pixar also likes to re-render a few scenes for international viewing. An example is in toy story 2, Buzz Lightyear begins to talk while an American flag is displayed on the television background, while in the U.K edition, a globe is spinning. The film then must be developed by Kodak and sent to the British Theaters.
It will take 6 months.
