Anacondas are viviparous, which means that the eggs are incubated internally and the young are born alive. The gestation time for Anacondas is approximately 6 months. The average is around 20-30 hatchlings, but as many as 100 births from one female have been observed. They are only about two feet longand are very vulnerable to predators at this stage. They can swim at birth and begin to hunt immediately. There is no parental care by the mother. They will reach sexual maturity at approximately 3-4 years of age. The growth will continue throughout their lives, but will slow down at maturity.
The yellow anacondas and green anacondas alike will be born at a length of 4" to 8" usually. Yellow anacondas will generally reach 6-8ft in 3-5 yrs, and this will be the maximum size. Green anacondas are generally born about twice as long, 8-10", but within three years will generally be 10-13.' These snakes are the big ones, the record is 27' I believe for an adult green, 5ft short of the record longest snake, the reticulated python, at 32ft. The anaconda was most likely 20% heavier at least, because of the girth of the species.
Mating in Anaconda's occurs during the Rainy season during April & May. Males identify receptive females and then copulate with them. Courting & Mating occurs almost exclusively in water and may sometimes happen on Land. Mating is followed by a gestation of around 6 to 7 months. Females give birth to live young. Litters are usually around 20 to 40 offspring but upto a 100 individuals may be born in a single litter. Babies are around 70 to 80 cms long at birth and receive no parental care. They are on their own right from day one.

Anaconda's are endangered primarily because of habitat loss but poaching is also a big matter.
