Does religion affect what people wear in France?

Some religions have clothing requirements for their members, turbans for sihks, head scarves for Muslim women, etc. The law of Canada allows this to be the choice of the individual where and how they observe these considerations.

That could be. In the past, French people dressed more smartly on Sundays (properly wearing their Sunday best). Nowadays French society is more mixed and even though most people are very supportive of secularism, some could wear clothing or clothing items they think are recommended by their religion. Islamic veils (not concealing the full face, as these are banned), Jewish kippas and Sikh turbans are a common sight. Of course you might find many more people wearing Sikh turbans in England, as the community is quite small in France. The most contentious item of clothing is the all-concealing, Arabic Gulf style clothing for women.
