There are many different theories about what happened to Lelouch at the end of season 2.

Lelouch is dead, Sunrise confirmed it.

If he did indeed have the 'Code' then he wouldn't have been able to use geass later in the same episode that his father is 'erased'(not killed) by 'God'.

My opinion in this matter is that Lelouch is not dead.

1. There is a paper crane in the seat, Nunnally taught Lelouch to make those during the first season.

2. Lelouch has Charles' Code which he received when the man choked him. The Code activates first when you die, which is what happened. CHarles code got activate when he shot himself the first time, same with C.C. shen she was killed by then nun. And before you say can't have Code and a Geass at the same time, the Code wasn't the one C.C. had, meaning that Lelouch was the first one to achieve Code Geass. Lelouch's code also activates when Suzaku stabbed him. Nunnally even gets 'memory watch' when she touched Lelouch. It was the similar effects when Lelouch touched C.C.'s body back in the cave episode. This pretty much tells us that he really has the code and it is activating to revive him. He's now traveling the country-side with C.C., living as immortals.

3. That's the only reason for C.C. to be suddenly so happy again. Also, before you say that C.C. was just talking to the dead like with Marianne, that's not true. She could only talk to her because of the nature of her Geass which allowed her to implant herself into the "hearts" of others. That's how she was able to talk with Marianne. Lelouch's Geass was entirely different, meaning that she could only have spoken to him if he was there.

4. The man driving the cart at the end is Lelouch. You can tell by the way C.C. tilts her head back a bit and in the tone that she is using that she is talking to that person, who she calls Lelouch. They don't show you his face because they want to make you speculate about it, but he is alive.

5. You can still tell that C.C. and the man driving are in Japan due to the drivers Japanese straw hat. Noticing this you would wonder why would a Japanese hay bale driver be wearing Britanian clothing? So it probably is Lelouch and not some random stranger which Sunrise is saying it is.

now i don't think he's dead because c.c said lelouhes name in the last episode of the third season so the person driving the cart was lelouh so he isn't dead

yes he didn't die because at the end of the hole show lelouch is riding with c.c and she say right lelouch and if you see closely the person that is driving c.c it looks gusst like lelouch i :))

Well, most of the fan belive that Lelouch is alive so do i too, why ?

there is 3 proof:

1- The pink Origami, in the end of the last episodes, the one that Nannally gave to Lelouch.

2- When Lelouch was dying, Nannally touch his hand and see his past and his secret, like when C.C touch the Lancelot in the Season 1.

3- In the end, C.C say: "The power of the king will left his user alone" and after she say: "i think this is not true" and in the end she say:" Right Lelouch ? ".

So for me Lelouch is still alive but we wont know it unless they make a S3.

Lelouch might be dead. But there a some OVAs and extras that show him as the cart driver at the end of the anime (R2 episode 25)

2) No, he asks Suzaku to shoot him, Suzaku is disguised as Zero. Lelouch set everything up so that Suzaku would be the hero of the new peaceful world.

So in the end Lelouch dies.

Maybe; if you look very carefully at the end before it shows c.c talking, its lelouch stirring the cart.

Lelouch is NOT dead. There is evidence that shows it. At the very end CC was talking to the wagon driver who happens to be lelouch. Why would orange boy smile when his beloved prince/emperor is dead. Plus he ordered a retreat.

alright, i will explain why Lelouch is still alive, i have done a lot of examinations and research.

1. At the end, Lord Jeremiah says "Onward masked Knight", so he isn't putting up a fight, and after Lelouch was stabbed, he smiles before calling retreat orders. he would have been more upset if Lelouch had really died since he lives to protect Lelouch and Nanalle.

2. Nanalle has 'memory watch' when she touches Lelouch, which is what happens to people when they touch C2 which means he could be immortal.

3. The symbol of Geass wasnt on Lelouch's forehead when he died, but (Emperor Charles had it on his hand) if ya look closely, Lelouch's hand is covered in blood which could easily be covering up the mark.

4. When Emperor Charles tried to choke Lelouch, he used the hand with the Geass symbol on it, so the power could easily have been passed to Lelouch and shown up on his hand (revert to number 3).

5.The Code activates first when you die, Lelouch's code activates when Suzaku stabbed him, just like Charle's code acrtivated when he was first shot. After being stabbed, Lelouch's code is activating and trying to revive him. Think of C2, she was shot and she shed blood and was unconcious for a while, which is what happened to Lelouch after being stabbed.

6. Nanalle was the one who showed Lelouch how to make cranes, and since at the end there is a crane and C2 doesnt know how to make them, the cart driver could easily be Lelouch in disquise. Not to mention that C2 said that she doesnt talk to dead people and that she tilts her head back a little on the cart and says Lelouch's name, which means she is talking directly to someone and that person is LELOUCH!

There ya have it, LONG LIVE LELOUCH!
