Only the 20GB and 60GB model PS3s have true backwards compatibility for PS2 games. The 80GB model can also emulate PS2 games, but it does not run as smooth as the other compatible models. NO other PS3s can play any PS2 games and there is not planned to ever be another model of PS2 compatible PS3s.
