exactly sasuke tries to kill itachi but gets hurt badly and when itachi goes for the kill but Madara Uchiha comes out of nowhere and he kills itachi as you see in naruto season 2 orochimaru realeses the first and second hokage with a summoning jutsu and then they disappear didnt mean they faded away it just means they where free. Oh and itachi never kills orochimaru
Actually Sasuke kills Orochimaru knowing he does know need his power to kill Itachi. Then Sasuke kills itachi and Madara explains to Sasuke that Itachi was orderd to wipe out the Uchiha clan and Itachi wanted to die and live a life of being an outcast
Sasuke does not die. He right now, currently, 2012 March chasing after the "revived" Itachi, and they are working together to fight Kabuto. Sasuke 4 ever. <3
