Why is darry concerned about ponyboy's dreams?
Because when Ponyboy has those dreams, the ones he can not remember, is terrifing to Ponyboy and Pony either wakes up screaming bloody murder or in a cold sweet. Darry is concerned because the dreams are in a way harming his brother.

i think that ponyboy feels a little awkward and scared by tthe socs because he starts to walk fast and eventually gets threatened to be killed and gets jumped over.

Darry loves Ponyboy because if he didn't, then he would have stuck Pony in a boy's home and worked through college with his football scholarship. But at the end of the book, Darry gets sorta mad at him because he feels that Pony lives in a vaccum and needs to cut it out. Darry really wants Pony to graduate and go to college since he wasn't able to and Soda dropped out.
