It was supposed to be a one season mini series, but now they have announced another 50+ episodes due to the success of the first season. Now we will have to wait to see how the rest of the story goes.

No, not yet. Season 4 of The Legend of Korra is called Book 4: Balance, and the season premiere is on October 3, 2014. Season 4 will be the last season of The Legend of Korra.
