South Africa has a Bill of Rights which includes freedom of the media but there are certain organizations that control certain aspects of South African press and media such as the government funded SABC (South African Broadcasting Corporation). There are also things currently being deliberated over that may take away some of the freedom that the media now enjoys including the Protection of State Information Bill and the Media Appeals Tribunal.
