I'm having the same problem. Try draining the gas from the tank if it's getting old, and put in fresh gas. You may also need to adjust the valves.
IF you have been trying to start it with choke on and it didnot start,your plug is fouled,if plug is not fowled,your carb jets are stopped up.Make sure the inline cut off valve is in on pesition.
Your car backfires when you need a new transmission,or tune up. How do you know the difference? Simple...if your car backfires then wont start, or wont start and then backfires,you need a transmission. If it backfires, and then starts moments after, you need a tune-up. Glad to help...David

check fuil mixture
Start by checking the distributor cap to see if it is attached to the spark plug, next check the spark plug itself. Probably not flooding though.
just under 6 liters of 10w40 oil with oil filter changed. start by filling with 4 liters then start engine . run for 2 min.s at idle then stop eng. and add oil to level .
First you need to pull the codes from the display,start from there after you count the number of flashes to determine which code it is,angle sensor,speed sensor,shift motor or ecm.
