Your throttle could be sticking for one of two reasons;
1: your throttle cable coud be old an need repair.... (spray some WD40 in it see if that helps)
2:in side of your carb. there is either a throttle plate or a throttle piston.... inspect for particles of sand or build up of carbon... use the proper carb and choke cleaner for cleaning
3:your accelerator lever could also be damaged.
a sticking cable at throttle body or a idle air control sensor. check to make sure throttle, is not sticking at throttle plate.
Clean the throttle body with a spray throttle body cleaner.
# The engine will rev high and not easily drop back to idle# The gas pedal will not operate smoothlyI'd say this isn't a very common problem, but the cable is easily accessed at the throttle body for trouble-shootingA sticking / binding throttle cable is either the throttle body sticking, or the cable itself.It's pretty easy to disconnect the cable end from the throttle body to be able to figure out which one is sticking/binding.What you find out will determine which direction to go next - a bent or obstructed cable between the gas pedal and throttle body, or diagnosing the throttle body itself.
If it's coming out the overflow pipe, then it's likely to be a sticking float.
the ATV should be in neutral to start the ATV. do not press the gas and lift the shifter up to put it in gear and push the throttle and you will be on your way. (some auto clutch ATV's gears are all down instead of up.)
Check for a vacuum leak or sticking butterfly valve at the throttle body, or possibly a sticking throttle linkage or throttle cable.
Clean the throttle body
Carbon is built up in the throttle body causing it to stick. Go to parts store and purchase throttle body cleaner. Take off plastic breather connecting to throttle body and spray in side the throttle body.
usually when a gas pedeal sticks its due to the gunk that's stuck in the throttle body. check the throttle body butterfly. if its hard to open then try cleaning all the gunk that's there. if that is all clear then try checking the cables for the gas under the hood
clean the carb,it must have some trash in it and check the spark plug it may need changing
Crappy seals. Take the ATV to a local workshop and tell them that you suspect the seals on the carburettor to be shoddy. OR it could be a float problem : sticking float will let fule run out the over flow pipe.
Raptor 50's are a youth atv. The factory has a throttle stop screw at the throttle lever. There is also changes to the throttle arm and carb slide that prevents attaining full throttle. Lastly the stock CDI box has a rev limiter.
