This problem is likely caused by one of the following... * Air in the hydraulic lines or calliper/s * Water in the brake fluid * Jammed, pitted or damaged calliper piston/s and / or cylinders * Worn calliper piston-seals * Unevenly worn fork seals (especially prevalent on bikes with twin front disks) * Bent fork staunchion/s * Deformed yoke/s (triple clamps) * Rusty or corroded brake disks * Worn brake pads * Dirt ingress between disk & pad * Worn / broken / damaged anti-squeal springs The best first practice to determine the cause of the problem is to bleed the brakes. If this works, so much the better. If not try draining the entire system; calliper/s, reservoir & line/s and starting from scratch. When working on braking systems it is imperative that every component be clean as a whistle. If there's dirt somewhere there shouldn't be there's also a good chance that air or water has leaked into the system. Replacing calliper pistons & seals is inexpensive and a good idea after approximately 10,000 miles. If you don't know when they were last replaced, do it as a matter of course if you have to drain the whole front braking system. Replacing fork seals is quite an involved job, but should be done if there is any sign of deterioration (usually noticeable by oil leakages). Calliper bleed-nipples are also very cheap, so replace those too if they look worn (They're easier to fit & remove if the'yre not rounded off!) Refer to a workshop manual for specific details on how to perform the various operations on your particular bike. Always use proper hydraulic fluid in braking systems.

Why do front tires on Honda civics go bald?

Most cars have more front tire wear than rear due to turning(tire scrub), front wheel drive cars wear even faster on the front. Rotating the tires regularly will get you more mileage. Other causes can be aggressive driving(burnouts), incorrect alignment, or tire pressure, and also worn steering/suspension parts. Hope this helps.

How to adjust Chevrolet truck brake calipers?

On the disc brakes I've seen (not very many), the calipers are self-adjusting. When replacing pads, the caliper must be compressed to accommodate the new, thicker pads. Other than that, I haven't heard of a brake caliper adjustment.Ans 2 - There is no adjustment necessary in Chev/GM front brakes. If they don't work as well as expected. the caliper slides may be very rusty. Scrub the slides with a wire brush then lube with a touch of dry graphite.
