To replace the auger cable on the MTD snow blower, you have to disconnect it from power. Use a screw driver to open the screw and replace the auger cable in question.

To replace the friction wheel on an MTD snow blower, you will need to disconnect the spark plug wire, remove the auger belt and pulley, then remove the wheel assembly. AYP (American Yard Products) and Murray Murray is no longer in business, they were taken over by Briggs and Stratton. Briggs and Stratton also build John Deere and Simplicity and a few other makes of snowblowers. The lower priced Craftsman (in Canada ) snow blowers are built by MTD, the higher priced models are built by Husqvarna in their AYP factories in the USA.
My 5hp MTD recommends 5-30 oil.
