I believe 14 years is under the legal working age. Even at 15 you still need a working permit issued by the state. If you are trying to occupy your child or build their working experience, I would recommend a volunteer job...which most likely will be pro-bono. There are many volunteer organizations throughout Philly, I would check any of the FREE Library locations. They are extremely helpful. If your 14 year old is EXTREMELY hard working and wants to make money now, I would then recommend applying at a mom & pop grocery or restaurant for cleaning work. Supply some written references from family, community members, church offiliates or prior jobs. Come prepared, organized and eager to work. When I was 14 I was babysitting...It pays great and there is a HUGE demand right now. Post an add on Craigslist or around your neighborhood and be responsible. Good Luck
