Hesitation when accelerating, and for some vehicles the check engine light or MIL lamp may blink on and off when the misfire occurs. The best way to check for this problem is to get a diagnostics check for misfires on the cylinders, once this is determined and the cylinders are isolated-it is possible to switch the coil pack to different plug wires to be sure the coil is the problem.
Check for codes... It maybe a bad coilpack. Or bad sparkplugs.
A coilpack on a 2002 Saturn L200 can be replaced in shop or by the owner. If the owner is making the replacement the owner's manual or a Chilton can be used to assist in the replacing of the coilpack.
Common problem. I have a Ford and if it is not started or driven for 3 days, it develops a bad coil. Not always the same one.
It can be very simple, or very complex. It could be a coilpack, bad plug wire, or even a bad spark plug. But it could be as serious and a cracked cylinder. First change your plugs and wires, if that doesnt fix it change the coilpack or check your distributor, whichever you have. If that doesnt do anything you will need to have the engine top end torn down and looked at
In most cases, the coilpack will have numbers on the top of it that correspond with your cylinders. If you can't see the numbers, as I couldn't at first, give the tower a little cleaning.
The Coilpack is located under the intake manifold. It is accessible from under the car or if you have real bendy arms you can remove the air filter box and get to it from there.
There is no coil pack on that year.

depends, sometimes they can last years... sometimes they can just go bad and will need replaced. If you think you have a coil pack going out, unplug one coil pack at a time... if the car runs rougher than it was, that's not the one. if you find one that when you unplug does not worsen the case then that is the faulty coilpack / sparkplug

Vehicle will shake and vibrate during acceleration as well as coasting and decelleration. Even at idle, small virabrtions will be noticeable. One or more cylinders are simply not firing any longer.
If you look at the plug wires you will see were they hook to the coils.
