i thought it was factory rated at 172hp
172 hp
chainsaw
Aprox 82mph stock form
Between 65 and 70 depending on who you askI own one and all I know is that whatever it is rated at is more than enough! Its about the same as a Polaris 850 OR Can m 800But the Thundercat has way more torque! (190lbs)
the top speed is 120 mph stock
more than 70 because the polaris sportsman xp 850 has 70.
the best arctic cat snowmobile ever made is the brand new arctic cat crossfire 1000 if your looking to purchase a sled for the winter months i highly recommend getting a crossfire 1000 you wont be disappointed with the crossfire in anyway
it has 65 horsepower sounds low for a 1000cc to me but i prefer a can am 800 xmr anyday
right now its pretty even bewtween the Can-Am Renegade 800, Polaris sportsman 850xp, and the Arctic Cat Thundercat 1000, or maybe a Polaris Outlaw 525 IRS
how much horsepower an arctic cat can have is just pending on the type of sled you got, like my sled is a 2008 arctic cat crossfire 1000 and its displacement is 999cc, 2-stroke, 162hp so its all pending on the type of sled that your riding or wanting to buy..
it all depends what kind your looking for if i wanted speed i would take a thundercat 1000. if i wanted trail I would take a ski doo formula z. if i wanted a mountain sle di would get a polaris dragon. but it is all about what brands you like and what you need.
You don't specify which model of Prowler. I did run across this on the UTV guide website: The 2009 Arctic Cat Prowler XTZ 1000 side by side was introduced to dealers at the 2008 Arctic Cat Dealer Expo in Thief River Falls, birthplace of Arctic Cat. Arctic Cat claims 188 ft. lb. at the crankshaft. and a rumored 70+ horsepower.
