More than likely the coil is breaking down and needs to be replaced. The other things that could cause this is that there may be debris under the engine cover that is keeping the cooling fins from blowing air accross the cylinder head. This will make the engine get hotter than normal and shut it down. If you remove the metal engine cover it should be obvious if this is the problem.

It is a safety feature for the engine I believe so the engine is not damaged.
When you arrive at a stop sign (or any prolonged stop whilst your engine is running) the cooling system can't handle the heat from the engine. But when you drive the air cools the engine
This is a common problem for Cherokee's there is not enough ventilation for the engine, I had a friend buy aftermarket hood vents and cut them into the hood, The engine heat causes the fuel bar to vapor lock and slowing or stopping the flow of fuel to the engine. I am not a mechanic, this is just from past experience.
A flight engine stops running after it has been stopped by a pilot.
Yes.
No, but the laws of physics and chemistry essentially force your engine to hydrolock - water does not like to be compressed like the fuel/air mixture in the cylinders, so your engine will seize (stop running).
Alternator not charging battery? Check with a voltmeter A fully charged battery should read approx. 12.8 volts without engine running With engine running reading should be approx. 13.8-14.2 volts
no as long as the engine is running the pump needss to remain on
If it's a newer model car it could be neutral safety switch or torque convert lock out switch. Is your check engine light on?
Engine coolant temp running 220 degree F
No non-use of the seatbelt will not prevent the engine from running.
