Arctic Cat recommends 10W/40 or 5W/30 for the 650, 700, and 1000 Prowler. Any "Wet Clutch Compatible" Motorcycle or ATV motor oil in this range will work. Automotive motor oils contain friction modifiers that can cause wear and heat to the clutch assembly. Arctic Cat recomends their 0W-40 synthetic oil. But you can use most any motorcycle/atv grade oil either synthetic or standard with around the same weight, 10w-40 is pretty common and cheaper then the cat oil.
what kind of motor oil for a 300 arctic cat 2x4?
How many quarts of oil does it take to change the oil in a Arctic cat 500
The oil capacity for a 2008 Arctic Cat 250 is three pints for the engine. The transmission oil capacity is eight quarts.
3.5 quarts
Use exactly what Arctic Cat recommends. More than likely it is 10w30 weight. Look in your owners manual and if you do not have one call your local Arctic Cat dealer. Use of the wrong weight oil can damage the engine.
