Removing the governor off a Kymco 50 cc scooter varies based on the type of restrictor it has. Mechanical restrictors require complete removal of the governor while electrical units simply need to be rewired.
Yes you need a moped permit which you can get form you insurance company. or a regular license. No you don't need a license to drive a 49cc scooter because it is under 50cc and there is currently no law on the 49cc. Until the law changes the only ticket you can get is for reckless driving like standing up with no hands or goofing off.
cut the pink wire going to the cdi.

I have a 49cc Hyosung scooter. Under the bike in front of the muffler there are colored wires. The Hyosung bike has an all BLUE wire -- It needs to be cut. Once cut, my bike got an extra 10-15 mph (top speed now 45 vs. 30)!!!!. I was in Martha's Vinyard and went to a scooter rental place that had my particular scooter. The expert there showed me how to do it. VERY EASY and EFFECTIVE. Once the blue wire is cut you need to add a little bit of 2-stroke oil to each tank of gas due to the higher rev speed.
you take off the inside r
Some scooters have a governor on them. Are you trying to exceed 60 mph when this happens?
