You don't need to wear a crash helmet by law ,however, it as seen as safer.
I'm afraid I have to disagree with the above answer, at least as far as the UK is concerned.
The position in the UK is that the rider and the pillion passenger on a motorcycle with an attached sidecar MUST wear a helmet. However, the passenger seated in the side car does not.
The driver or passengers in a three wheeled car car are not required to wear helmets.
The legal position with trikes is more complicated and advice should be taken from the local taxation office on which class the vehicle is registered in. A non legal opinion is that it depends on whether you sit astride or in the trike.
Head injuries can be fatal and are often very serious so wearing a helmet is a sensible precaution where head injuries are possible and that would include most passengers in sidecars.
Technically the answer is "No.."
yes
It is legal to wear a crash helmet while driving a car.
Yes, New Jersey requires all riders and passengers (including sidecar riders) to wear a DOT certified helmet at all times. Helmet laws here are vigorously enforced.
On any motorbike the law requires the rider and the passenger(if there is a passenger) to be wearing a helmet at all times whilst the vehicle is moving.
wear, not where. Its called grammar. You need to wear a bike helmet because its really painful if you crash without a helmet. How does that relate to cheese?
Motorcycle rider and passengers are required to wear a helmet in california. It is a good law since chances of surviving a motorcycle crash without a helmet are slim.
In most states you need to wear a helmet for quad bikes. Even if it is not a law, when the conditions exist for brain injury, wearing a helmet is always a good idea.
You are not required by law to wear a crash helmet in Florida however i would highly recommend that you do! Florida does not require a helmet while driving a motorcycle. http://www.edgarsnyder.com/auto-accident/motorcycle-accident/helmetlaws/florida.html
Higher because they will see it as you are more of a health liability because you don't wear your helmet, thus more head trauma is likely in the event of a crash, than if you do wear a helmet, where less head trauma is likely. The less head trauma, the less medical expenses they will have to pay, so the less you will have to pay.
"You" don't make one. You buy one. "YOU" do not have the required skills or equipment to make a motorcycle helmet which will provide any degree of protection in the event of a crash. If you are going to make your own helmet then you might as well not even wear one.
Everyone has to wear a helmet no matter what age! :)
