now days a military serial number is the assigned social security number. find the persons social security number and you have the army serial number............

Nearest I could find with that serial number was a single action army & bisley (pre war ) made in 1895.
That serial number shows it was made in 1922. If you google 'Colt Army Special .38' you will find some information on it.
You will have to get it lettered by Colt to find out.
