This is a personal decision for one to make. For most people who are welders , there are many objectives. Some are, financial , welders especially certified one can make good wages , but money isn't everything, one must enjoy working with metal , so personal enjoyment would be another, accomplishing a difficult task , welding is not just sticking metal together, it can be a very complicated process , so improving ones skill would be another. Building something falls in the satisfaction category . The down sides are .. it can be very hot at times , there are .. burns (and you will get them) dangerous fumes , light rays , electrical hazards , these can be minimized by taking precautions , one could go on , but it still remains , for the most part a personal choice.
