The saber saw can be adapted to do just about anycutting job. I have used it for cutting steel, Timber, ceramics, brick, mortar, branches etc. There are a large variety of different blades available for reciprocal saws at most hardware and tool stores.
From easiest to hardest: With a saber saw. With a band saw. With a coping saw. With steaming and then bending a thin piece of wood. With cutting close kerfs in wood, and them bending it mechanically. With careful hand carving.
