If I am understanding the question right you would have two or three different options to do so. You could drill a whole through the fire wall. You can attach(often with tie straps) the wire through the bottom and you could drill a whole under the car. Lastly you can do a combination of the above two and use a tire well or another area of the car to drill through. Which method to use should be decided by ability level and means available to you, also the amount of "professionalism" your system has.
It depends on the drill you use. With diamond drills it can be done in less than two days, but with a cheap, blunt drill, it could take over three weeks.
It is possible to get through law school in less than three years, but it requires a full load in the summer.
Most kitchen cast iron sinks have 3 holes and a single handle uses all three. A bathroom sink will have two or three depending on age and if you are very careful and take your time, you can drill a center hole in cast iron. Start with a small pilot hole in the center from the underneath side. You can't start on top on the porcelain. Once you get the pilot hole through, you can then drill from the top down and should use oil to keep the chipping of the porcelain to a minimum.
