You can fix cracks in a plaster wall by applying joint compound that you can pick up at any hardware or home improvement store. Simply fill the crack with joint compound and smooth until the crack is sealed.

the best way, is to replace the whole section with good quality sheetrock. if just small repair,; cut out section and back it up with wire mess. than add plaster ,in layers, sanding each time, to a smooth finish. be careful, most plaster walls are old. this means you may have water leaking into the area. fix that first.....t..w..

Your local home improvement store will actually sell stucco repair kits. They will also give you a hands on demo if you would like but its not all that difficult.

remove the wallpaper on that spot with a wallpaper remover (check Lowes) and repair the crack
